Job summary

Agilus Work Solutions, partnered with Hatch in Calgary, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for mining and mineral processing projects. The role focuses on delivering concepts, studies, and robust technical guidance within an EPCM environment.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with CAD personnel, and ensure compliance with standards while managing budget and schedule across multi-site assignments.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an EPCM environment for industrial projects.
• Engineering degree and PE registration with a Canadian engineering association.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
• Proficiency with SPEL, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower and ASPEN for electrical design.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs, studies, reports and proposals and ensure effective communication within project teams and with client engineer
• Report to Area Project Engineering Manager for project issues and to the overall Electrical Lead for functional issues
• Visit project sites and other design offices for project related activities as required
• Lead a team of Electrical Engineers, Designers and CAD personnel in the successful execution of electrical engineering and design for mining/mineral processing within budget and on schedule
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for the electrical team and mentor engineers-in-training and designers
• Prepare and check calculations as required and prepare electrical equipment specification packages
• Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications and prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications

Successful candidates will have:

• Engineer with 12+ years of relevant experience - preferably in an EPCM environment for industrial projects
• Engineering degree and registered as a Professional Engineer with the P.E.O or another Canadian Professional Engineering Association
• Knowledge of industry, regulatory codes and standards
• Proficient with the following electrical design tools and software: SPEL, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower and ASPEN
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multi disciplinary teams
