Job summary

WSP in Victoria, BC seeks an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support the design of safe and sustainable buildings. You'll collaborate with experienced professionals on diverse projects, contributing to the design and analysis of electrical systems across various sectors.

Qualifications

  • Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) with EGBC.
  • Foundational knowledge of building electrical systems (power distribution, lighting).
  • Experience with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD and/or Revit is an asset.

Your Impact
  • Support the design and analysis of electrical systems for institutional, commercial, and mixed‑use building projects.
  • Assist with preparation of drawings, calculations, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated and integrated building designs.
  • Participate in site visits, field reviews, and construction support activities.
  • Apply applicable codes, standards, and client requirements to engineering deliverables.
  • Contribute to sustainable and resilient design solutions that positively impact communities.
  • Grow your technical expertise through mentorship, training, and progressive responsibility.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) with EGBC.
  • Foundational knowledge of building electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life safety).
  • Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code and relevant standards.
  • Experience with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD and/or Revit is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to participate in field work and site reviews as required.
Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $73,400 – $97,200
MB & ON: $67,000 – $92,200
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $66,300 – $88,000
