Job summary

As a Senior Electrical Engineer for Buildings based in Victoria, BC, you will shape the electrical systems powering educational and public facilities, delivering resilient and efficient environments across Vancouver Island and beyond.

You will lead power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life-safety designs from concept to construction, collaborating with architects, mechanical, and structural teams to create integrated solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, civic, or complex facilities.
• P.Eng registration in British Columbia or ability to obtain it.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, lighting calculation software, and power system analysis platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to balance technical excellence with constructability and client needs.
• Collaborative, multidisciplinary mindset with proactive solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver electrical building systems for diverse facilities in Victoria and beyond.
• Lead power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, life-safety, and low-voltage designs from concept to construction.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical and structural engineers to integrate solutions.
• Guide feasibility studies, code reviews, and engineering reports.
• Apply modeling and analysis tools to improve performance and sustainability.
• Mentor junior engineers and technologists on projects.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
• Contribute technical leadership to proposals, planning, and design standards.

Compensation

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $114,600 – $151,800
• MB & ON: $104,500 – $143,900
• NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $97,400 – $131,200
