Job summary

WSP Canada is seeking an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Victoria, BC to support multidisciplinary building projects and develop electrical designs for power, lighting, and communications systems. You will work closely with senior engineers to produce drawings and calculations, while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

You will engage in field reviews and commissioning activities, grow your technical expertise, and pursue licensure toward P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited program.
• Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
• Understanding of building electrical systems design principles.
• Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communications.
• Prepare calculations, technical drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality project outcomes.
• Participate in field reviews, site inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Contribute to building projects including government and defence sector clients.
• Assist in ensuring designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Engage in continuous learning and work toward professional licensure (P.Eng.).
• Build strong client and team relationships through clear communication and technical excellence.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited program
• Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
• Understanding of building electrical systems design principles
• Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms is an asset
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within deadlines
• Holds, or is eligible to obtain, a Government of Canada Reliability Security Clearance
• Experience supporting government, infrastructure, or defence-related projects is considered an asset
• Candidates open to relocating to the Victoria, BC area are encouraged to apply; relocation support may be considered based on role requirements and candidate experience

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $73,400 - $97,200
• MB & ON: $67,000 - $92,200
• NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $66,300 - $88,000
