Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking an Electrical Engineer-in-Training to help design safer, smarter, and more resilient building systems across British Columbia and the Yukon. You will contribute to projects that span commercial, healthcare, education, transportation and light industrial sectors.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will develop electrical BIM models, prepare drawings and specifications, apply the BC Building Code and Canadian Electrical Code, and support project coordination

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree with EIT registration or eligible to register (EGBC).
• 2+ years of electrical design consulting experience for buildings.
• Curiosity, initiative, attention to detail and task-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams for fast-paced submissions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit, AGI or ETAP is an asset.
• Working knowledge of Canada-wide electrical and building codes and standards.

Your Impact

• Design electrical systems—including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, data and security—for diverse building types across BC and the Yukon.
• Develop electrical BIM models in collaboration with architectural, structural, mechanical and civil teams.
• Prepare drawings, technical documentation, and specifications supporting project delivery.
• Apply the BC Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code and relevant standards to ensure compliant, high‑quality designs.
• Complete system calculations and modelling using industry‑standard tools.
• Participate in construction reviews and contribute to construction‑phase coordination and administration.
• Support project teams with timely communication, client coordination and documentation.
• Contribute to project tracking, quality assurance, and other team processes that drive successful outcomes.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $73,400 – $97,200

MB & ON: $67,000 – $92,200

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $66,300 – $88,000
