Job summary

WSP in Vancouver is seeking an Electrical Engineer to shape high‑performance, sustainable building electrical systems in British Columbia. You will design power, lighting, life safety, and integrated energy solutions, delivering strong calculations, drawings, and specifications across projects.

You will collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction, ensuring buildable, code‑compliant designs while driving sustainability and team alignment throughout

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in electrical engineering for building systems.
• P.Eng with EGBC eligibility or licensure in progress.
• Experience on building-focused projects (commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, mixed-use, or civic).
• Ability to design from concept through construction with practical, buildable solutions.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design/calculation software.
• Strong collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.

• Deliver clear calculations, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.

• Design electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety, communications, and integrated energy solutions.
• Deliver clear, technically strong calculations, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Collaborate closely with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams to create fully coordinated building designs.
• Support project delivery from concept design through construction, including site reviews and responding to contractor queries.
• Apply relevant Canadian codes, standards, and best practices to ensure safe, compliant, high‑quality electrical systems.
• Integrate sustainability, energy efficiency, and low‑carbon strategies into building electrical designs.
• Communicate design intent effectively to internal teams, clients, and external partners to maintain alignment throughout project stages.

• You bring progressive experience in electrical engineering for building systems, gained through hands‑on project delivery and real‑world design work.
• You have, or are eligible for, P.Eng. with EGBC, or are actively working toward professional licensure.
• You’ve contributed to building‑focused projects such as commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, mixed‑use, or civic facilities.
• You’re comfortable navigating all stages of design — from early concepts to construction — with a focus on practical, buildable solutions.
• You are proficient with industry‑standard tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design/calculation software.

Compensation

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $98,800 – $130,800
• MB & ON: $90,100 – $124,100
• NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $89,200 – $118,500

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
