Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking an electrical engineering professional to contribute across project stages, from initial client engagement to onsite commissioning. You will collaborate with engineers, designers and drafters to prepare deliverables that meet standards, and assist with calculations, studies and on-site testing.

The role emphasizes leadership, English/French bilingual collaboration, and travel to client sites within Canada, the USA, and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university.
• Member in good standing with EGBC and registered as an EIT.
• At least one year of experience in engineering.
• Familiarity with reading and preparing electrical schematics (single lines, three lines and interconnection drawings).
• Knowledge of MS Office and other database applications.
• Basic knowledge of HV/MV/LV apparatus and safety in electrical installations.
• Strong communication (spoken and written in English), soft and relationship-building skills.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to travel to client sites and other BBA offices within Canada, the USA and abroad for short-term assignments.
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Ability to draft technical documents in both languages.
• Asset: knowledge of power systems (HV, MV, LV)
• Asset: knowledge of electrical study software such as PSCAD, PSSE, CYME, PSSE and EMTP-RV
