Job summary

A leading consulting engineering firm in Calgary is looking for an Electrical Engineer-in-Training to support electrical engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, strong communication skills in English and French, and a commitment to health and safety. Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of engineering experience.
• Familiarity with reading and preparing electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with engineers, designers and drafters to prepare deliverables.
• Assist in the preparation of design deliverables under the supervision of project engineers.
• Participate in site inspections, testing and commissioning at client sites.

Skills

Strong verbal and written communication in English

Basic knowledge of HV/MV/LV apparatus and electrical installation safety

Ability to draft technical documents in both English and French

Education

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

Member in good standing with EGBC and registered as an EIT

Tools

Knowledge of electrical study software such as PSCAD, PSSE, CYME, and EMTP-RV

Proficiency in MS Office

Certifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university.
• Member in good standing with EGBC and registered as an EIT.

• Basic knowledge of HV/MV/LV apparatus and electrical installation safety.

• Ability to travel to customer sites and other BBA offices within Canada, the USA, and international destinations for project short‑term assignments.
• Advanced English skills for collaboration across BBA offices and clients.
• Advanced French skills for collaboration in Québec.
• Ability to draft technical documents in both languages.
• Asset: Knowledge of power systems (HV, MV, LV).
• Asset: Knowledge of electrical study software such as PSCAD, PSSE, CYME, and EMTP‑RV.
