Job summary

WSP Canada in Vancouver is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Buildings team and shape sustainable, people-centric buildings across British Columbia. You will design electrical systems, produce robust calculations, drawings and specifications, and coordinate with architects and engineers to deliver integrated designs.

You will apply Canadian codes and energy-saving strategies through all design stages from concept to construction, ensuring safe, compliant installations.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in electrical engineering for building systems.
• P.Eng with EGBC or licensure in progress.
• Experience on building-focused projects (commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, mixed-use or civic).
• Experience across design stages from concept to construction.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and electrical design/calculation software.
• Collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwork to deliver integrated designs.

• Deliver clear calculations, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated designs.

Your Impact

• Design electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety, communications, and integrated energy solutions.
• Deliver clear, technically strong calculations, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Collaborate closely with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams to create fully coordinated building designs.
• Support project delivery from concept design through construction, including site reviews and responding to contractor queries.
• Apply relevant Canadian codes, standards, and best practices to ensure safe, compliant, high-quality electrical systems.
• Integrate sustainability, energy efficiency, and low-carbon strategies into building electrical designs.
• Communicate design intent effectively to internal teams, clients, and external partners to maintain alignment throughout project stages.

• You bring progressive experience in electrical engineering for building systems, gained through hands-on project delivery and real-world design work.
• You have, or are eligible for, P.Eng. with EGBC, or are actively working toward professional licensure.
• You've contributed to building-focused projects such as commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, mixed-use, or civic facilities.
• You're comfortable navigating all stages of design - from early concepts to construction - with a focus on practical, buildable solutions.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $98,800 - $130,800

MB & ON: $90,100 - $124,100

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $89,200 - $118,500
