Job summary

WSP in Canada, based in Vancouver, seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive building electrical design from concept to delivery. You will lead projects, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performing building solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with Canadian electrical codes, and nurture strong client relationships to grow project opportunities in a sustainable, innovative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with progressive experience in building systems design.
  • Proven experience managing or supporting project delivery, including schedules, budgets, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia (or eligibility).
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian electrical codes and standards applicable to buildings.
  • Experience with design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and power system analysis software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and influence outcomes.

  • Manage project scope, resources, and client expectations while proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee design development for power distribution, lighting, life safety systems, and building systems integration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, high-performing building solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to repeat business and project growth.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and sustainability objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery processes and technical excellence.

Compensation
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $98,800 – $130,800
  • MB & ON: $90,100 – $124,100
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $89,200 – $118,500
