What you can expect to do:
- Design electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities, including power distribution, control systems, communication networks, lighting, fire alarms, and security systems.
- Prepare proposals, technical memoranda, design reports, and detailed electrical specifications, demonstrating strong writing skills.
- Engage in project collaboration and meetings with teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Coordinate with utilities and key stakeholders for seamless project execution.
- Work with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to incorporate design data into detailed drawings and specifications.
- Participate in construction services such as shop drawing reviews, RFIs, change orders, and site inspections.
- Conduct engineering analyses and system studies, including arc flash, short circuits, coordination, lifecycle, and cost assessments.
- Perform site surveys and condition assessments.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and address unforeseen challenges.
- Review design documents for compliance with standards, codes, and best practices.
- Facilitate collaboration between design and construction teams.
- Mentorship: Share expertise with junior staff to foster growth.
- Additional duties: Be prepared for a dynamic role with evolving responsibilities.
What you’ll bring:
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- Experience: 5-10 years in design projects across Ontario and Canada.
- Credentials: Valid PEO Professional Engineer License.
- Knowledge of Codes and Standards: OESC, OBC, IEEE, ASHRAE, CSA, OHSA.
- Technical Skills: AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, 3D modeling, municipal infrastructure.
- Project Management: Proven track record in project coordination and delivery.
- Analytical Skills: Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Writing Skills: Capable of preparing proposals, reports, and memoranda.
- Leadership: Natural leader, calm under pressure, proactive problem solver.
- Independence: Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
