Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking an Electrical EIT to support its Energy & Resources group in Saskatoon. The role involves designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, educational, and healthcare facilities under a senior engineer’s guidance, within a collaborative local team.

You will work on design deliverables, perform site visits, and contribute to an expanding practice in Western Canada, with a flexible hybrid schedule and opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • EIT certificate or ability to attain one.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical design experience.
  • Strong written and confident verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative.
  • Exposure to general Civil Engineering experience a plus.
  • Prior experience in P&C and physical substation design considered a plus.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Microstation considered a plus.
  • Prior experience consulting or working for an electric utility considered a plus.
  • Experience using electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations and facilities.
  • Collaborating with Designers and CAD Technicians to develop drawings per standards and specs.
  • Developing design deliverables including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, and layouts.
  • Performing site visits during design, construction, and as-built phases of projects

We are looking for an Electrical EIT to support our Energy and Resources group in the Saskatoon Office. Our team is highly collaborative and exceptionally motivated to continue to develop a fast growing section of the organization. This role will be responsible for working within our local electrical team and designing project across various sectors such as commercial, institutional, educational, and healthcare while under the guidance of a senior engineer.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (low, medium, and high voltage), generation facilities, and industrial facilities.
  • Working with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements.
  • Developing design deliverables including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communications plans, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.
  • Performing site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate or ability to attain one.
