Job summary

CIMA+ Energy & Resources team is seeking an Electrical Substation Engineer to produce drawings, calculations and designs for substations and generation facilities in Canada. You will collaborate with Designers and CADD Technicians and apply national standards and safety codes on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience using AutoCAD is a plus.
• Experience with electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower is a plus.
• Experience consulting or working for an electric utility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (low, medium, and high voltage), generation facilities, and industrial facilities.
• Working with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements.
• Developing design deliverables including one-line diagrams, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.
• Performing site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects
