Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical preferred).
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, and designs for electrical substations and facilities.
• Collaborate with Designers and CAD Technicians to ensure conformance with design standards and project specs.
• Develop deliverables including one-line diagrams, layouts, material lists, cable sizing, and grounding.
• Perform site visits during design, construction, and as-built phases.

Job Responsibilities

• Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (low, medium, and high voltage), generation facilities, and industrial facilities.
• Working with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements.
• Developing design deliverables including one-line diagrams, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.
• Performing site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Strong written and confident verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and ability to take initiative.
• Experience using AutoCAD considered a plus.
• Prior experience consulting or working for an electric utility considered a plus.
• Experience using electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower considered a plus.

• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office
