Job summary

BBA Consultants in Sudbury, ON invites a College or university student in Electrical Technology or Electrical Engineering to join our team as an Electrical Co-Op for Winter 2027. You will work with engineers and designers across Canada on mining and energy projects, contributing to studies, drawings, data sheets and specifications.

Qualifications

• College or university student in Electrical Technician/Technologist or Electrical Engineering program.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
• Available to travel occasionally between BBA offices.
• Asset: Electrical experience in the industrial, energy or mining sectors.
• Asset: Bilingual, English / French.

Responsibilities

• Assist in study or detailed engineering mandates for clients with existing facilities or those expanding or building new facilities.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary mandates with engineers, technicians and technologists.
• Analyze electrical design problems and provide technical input as a resource.
• Prepare 2D drawings and/or 3D models per client and industry standards.
• Draft plans, data sheets and specifications for electrical mandates.
• Create calculations, lists and bills of materials per codes and firm quality system.
• Prepare presentations, meeting minutes and reports.
• Support experienced staff with complex tasks.

• Help carry out study or detailed engineering mandates for clients with existing facilities or for those wanting to expand or build newfacilities
• Participate in multidisciplinary mandates as part of a work teamcomprised of engineers, technicians, and technologists
• Participate in analyzing various types of technical problemsrelated to electrical design
• Prepare drawings in 2D and/or 3D models in accordance with clientand industry standards, as well as regional codes and standards.
• Prepare plans, technical data sheets and specifications based onguidelines for electrical mandates
• Prepare calculations, lists and bills of materials in accordancewith codes, standards, drawings and other established methods whilecomplying with the firm’s quality system requirements
• Prepare presentations, minutes of meetings and reports
• Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects ofcomplex tasks
