Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a Mining Engineering student for a winter 2027 co-op in Sudbury, ON. You will collaborate with engineers, designers and technicians on mining and energy projects across Canada, contributing to studies and detailed engineering tasks.

Responsibilities include preparing drawings, plans, specifications, and performing calculations in accordance with codes and the firm’s quality system.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Mining Engineering program.
• Able to use MS Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in study or detailed engineering mandates for mining projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians and designers on multidisciplinary mandates.
• Analyze mining-related technical problems and mine design considerations.
• Prepare 2D drawings and/or 3D models following client/industry standards.
• Create plans, technical data sheets and specifications for mining mandates.
• Develop calculations and BOMs in line with codes and firm quality system.

You’ll work closely with our experts, senior engineersand designers on projects in mining or energy sectors, including studies, andwill serve as a technical resource.

• Help carry out study or detailed engineering mandates for clientswith existing facilities or for those wanting to expand or build newfacilities
• Participate in multidisciplinary mandates as part of a work teamcomprised of engineers, technicians, and technologists
• Participate in analyzing various types of technical problemsrelated to mine design
• Prepare drawings in 2D and/or 3D models in accordance with clientand industry standards, as well as regional codes and standards.
• Prepare plans, technical data sheets and specifications based onguidelines for mining mandates
• Prepare calculations, lists and bills of materials in accordancewith codes, standards, drawings and other established methods whilecomplying with the firm’s quality system requirements
• Prepare presentations, minutes of meetings and reports
• Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects ofcomplex tasks

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• College or university student in a Mining Engineering program
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and other applications
• Available to travel occasionally between BBA offices
• Available for short-term assignments at sites in Ontario and Canada
• Asset: Mining experience in the industrial, energy or miningsectors
• Asset: Bilingual, English / French
