Job summary

BBA Consultants in Sudbury, Ontario, is seeking a Mining Engineering co-op student for Winter 2027. You will collaborate with experts on mining and energy projects, assisting in studies, design work and technical analyses.

This is a hands-on role that supports senior staff across multiple offices in Canada. Responsibilities include preparing drawings, plans, data sheets, and calculations, while traveling occasionally between BBA offices.

Qualifications

• College or university student in a Mining Engineering program
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and other applications
• Available to travel occasionally between BBA offices
• Available for short-term assignments at sites in Ontario and Canada

Responsibilities

• Support study or detailed engineering mandates for clients with existing facilities or expansion plans
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians and technologists
• Analyze technical problems related to mine design
• Prepare 2D drawings and/or 3D models per client and industry standards
• Develop plans, technical data sheets, and specifications for mining mandates
• Produce calculations, BOMs and material lists per codes and QA system
• Prepare presentations, meeting minutes and reports
• Assist senior staff with complex tasks

• Help carry out study or detailed engineering mandates for clientswith existing facilities or for those wanting to expand or build newfacilities
• Participate in multidisciplinary mandates as part of a work teamcomprised of engineers, technicians, and technologists
• Participate in analyzing various types of technical problemsrelated to mine design
• Prepare drawings in 2D and/or 3D models in accordance with clientand industry standards, as well as regional codes and standards.
• Prepare plans, technical data sheets and specifications based onguidelines for mining mandates
• Prepare calculations, lists and bills of materials in accordancewith codes, standards, drawings and other established methods whilecomplying with the firm’s quality system requirements
• Prepare presentations, minutes of meetings and reports
• Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects ofcomplex tasks
