Job summary

GDI Ainsworth is seeking an Indentured Apprentice Electrical candidate for on-site installations in Edmonton. You will work on wiring layouts, conduit runs, and electrical control equipment in commercial settings, while following strict safety policies.

Ideal applicants are in 1st–4th year of apprenticeship in Alberta with conduit experience, a high school diploma, and strong English communication. HVAC and VFD exposure are assets for this role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology.
• Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and precision work.
• Commercial/construction installations experience.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations.
• Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and fittings.
• Pull wire through conduits and ceiling spaces.
• Install, replace and repair electrical control equipment such as relays, sensors and panels.
• Troubleshoot faults in electrical systems and replace faulty components.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
