Job summary

GDI Ainsworth is seeking an Experienced Apprentice Sheetmetal Technician for Commercial Service and Installation work in Calgary, Alberta. You will service and install HVAC ductwork, interpret blueprints, and uphold safety and quality standards.

This position requires Alberta Apprentice status, a valid Alberta driver's license, strong math and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Alberta Apprentice designation.
• Basic understanding of Mechanical Installation and Building/Fire codes.
• Valid Alberta Driver's License.
• Excellent Math and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work alone and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform service repairs on building ductwork distribution systems.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for HVAC systems.
• Assist in installation of HVAC equipment and associated ductwork.
• Interpret blueprints, determine material takeoffs, order materials.
• Maintain safe work practices and provide high level customer service.

Job Summary

Experienced Apprentice Sheetmetal Technician(s) required for Commercial Service/Installation work for existing and new customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform service repairs on existing building ductwork distribution systems.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Assist in installation of various types of HVAC equipment and associated ductwork.
• Installation of appliance venting, combustion air, etc.
• Interpret blueprints, determining material takeoffs, ordering of necessary job materials.
• Safe work practices, provide a high level of customer service.

Qualifications

• Alberta Apprentice
• Basic understanding of Mechanical Installation and Building/Fire codes.
• Valid Alberta Drivers License.
• Excellent Math and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
• Must be able to lift heavy materials, tools and equipment when required.
• Company uniform and boot allowance are provided!
