Job summary

Energy Network Services Inc. in Calgary is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to assist a Journeyperson in installing, altering, adding and repairing electrical systems on commercial sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
• Must be able to pass a security background check.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to multitask while staying organized.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be able to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights).

Responsibilities

• Gather tools and supplies to be used at work site.
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit.
• Trace out short circuits in wiring.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order.
• Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Help secure, relocate and organize materials, small tools and equipment.
• Keep work area clean by collecting and disposing of scrap and excess materials.
• Assist in pulling wire and lifting.
• May operate hand tools and equipment under direct supervision of a Journeyperson.
• Assist in mounting and strapping conduit.
• Performs other project related duties as instructed by Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of an Electrician assisting in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of electrical systems on commercial work sites in Calgary, Alberta. The ideal candidate will be working towards a career in the trade with Energy Network Services Inc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gather tools and supplies to be used at work site.
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit.
• Trace out short circuits in wiring.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order.
• Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.

• Keep work area clean by collecting and disposing of scrap and excess materials
• Assists in pulling wire and lifting.

• Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by Manager.
