Job summary

Energy Network Services Inc. (ENS) is a leading Canadian provider of connected energy solutions with nationwide service coverage. We seek a skilled electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings, while ensuring compliance with safety codes.

You will plan layouts, install switchgear, and train apprentices as required. A construction and electrician certification, a minimum of three years’ experience, and a valid driver’s license are essential

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety Code and relevant acts.
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Able to climb 10 ft ladders.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Construction and Electrician certification required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of trade experience including apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sketches showing wiring locations or follow diagrams to install wiring.
  • Plan layouts to minimize material waste and allow future maintenance access.
  • Install wiring, equipment, and fixtures per job specs and local codes.
  • Install control and distribution equipment such as switches, relays, and panels.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs as needed.
  • Train apprentices as required
  • Advise management on potentially hazardous equipment operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications, safety codes and local electrical codes.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels; install electrical feeders, power systems and/or switchgear.
  • Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Train apprentices as required
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all other applicable legislation required
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods and capable of climbing 10 ft. ladders

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Construction and Electrician certification is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of trade experience (apprenticeship included)
  • A valid class 5 drivers license is required
  • Criminal background check will be a prerequisite
