Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Design and develop power equipment and systems. Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation. Maintain equipment. Service equipment. Assist in design, development and testing. Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments. Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems. Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports. Design electrical and electronic components, systems and equipment. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations. Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices. Computer and technology knowledge: Computer-aided design (CAD). AutoCAD. Networks. Equipment, eystems and controls experience: Electronic testing equipment and systems. Area of specialization: Design. Troubleshooting. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
