Join to apply for the Medical Radiation Technologist I role at Alberta Health Services.

Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta is offering a rewarding opportunity for a 0.7 FTE Temporary part-time Medical Radiation Technologist I (MRT I) to join our team. Reporting to the General Radiography Supervisor, the successful candidate will perform advanced x-ray imaging techniques, operate equipment, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include performing quality general radiology, fluoroscopy, CT heads, OR and portable examinations in a busy Diagnostic Imaging Department, requiring close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, supervisor, and management.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of standard radiological imaging examinations for disease and pathology diagnosis.
  • Interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients, and produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Assist with equipment care and maintenance.
  • Procedures may include general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical examinations, and fluoroscopy.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
  • Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Ability to work all scheduled shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call.
  • Strong radiation safety and technical skills in radiology, fluoroscopy, portables, and OR.
  • Proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
  • Interest in professional growth and continued education.
  • Demonstrated tact, courtesy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Connect Care and PACS proficiency.
  • Participation in AHS DI Provincial Committees, superuser training, or additional departmental responsibilities.
  • Up-to-date continuing education and additional relevant courses.
  • Experience in mentoring students is an asset.
