Job summary

Kenvue in Guelph, Ontario is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead environmental, health, and safety programs on a fully on-site site. You will work with front-line teams to ensure regulatory compliance, drive incident investigations, and support ISO 14001/45001 initiatives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The role requires 1–3 years of EHS experience in an industrial setting, a relevant degree, and strong regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of progressive EHS experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment; GMP-regulated environment preferred.
  • Experience implementing and auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems (preferred).
  • Experience in implementing EHS programs, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Conduct hazard assessments, risk evaluations, workplace inspections, and job hazard analyses to identify risks and implement control measures.

What You Will Do

The EHS Specialist is responsible for implementing, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs to support a safe, health, and compliant workplace. This role partners closely with front line workers and supervisors to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and company standards, support environmental and safety management systems, participate in incident investigations including implementation of corrective and preventive actions, and foster proactive culture of continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Conduct hazard assessments, risk evaluations, workplace inspections, and job hazard analyses to identify risks and implement control measures.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 management systems and related initiatives.
  • Partner with operational teams to promote a proactive safety culture and integrate EHS best practices into daily operations.
Compliance
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal environmental, health, and safety legislation, as well as Kenvue Standards by completing required reports, assessments, inspections, etc.
  • Conduct internal EHS audits, inspections, and compliance assessments to self-identify gaps, including implementation of mitigation actions.
  • Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and corporate EHS assessments.
Incident Management
  • Participate in the investigation of workplace incidents, injuries, good saves, and environmental events to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including response drills, and post-event reviews.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, documentation, and reports in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Communication and Training
  • Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness programs to employees, supervisors, and leaders.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to support informed decision-making and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Joint Health and Safety Committees, and leadership to drive engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present EHS performance reports, compliance updates, and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Experience
  • 1–3 years of progressive Environmental Health and Safety experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment.
  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment (preferred).
  • Experience implementing and auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems (preferred).
Skills
  • Experience in implementing EHS programs, conducting audits and risk assessments, and participating incident investigations, including implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, Environmental Protection Act, and applicable regulations to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform robust record keeping and inventory management of databases such as chemical & safety data sheet (SDS) database, personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory, etc.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional or Technician (CRSP or CRST), Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH), Environmental Professional (EP), or an equivalent EHS designation (preferred).
  • Current certification or formal training in relevant EHS disciplines such as Chemical Management, Industrial Hygiene, Noise, Ergonomics, Fall Protection, Standard First Aid/CPR, Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification, or related programs (preferred).
Work Environment

This is an on-site position based in Guelph, Ontario. Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments and requires regular presence on the production floor. Occasional (<10%) travel to other company locations may be required.

What’s In It For You

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges: $61,000.00 - $97,175.00

This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
