Job summary

Kardium Inc. is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to foster a culture of safety in Burnaby, BC. Hybrid work setup with responsibilities spanning EHS program development, audits, inspections, root-cause analyses and committee leadership.

You will lead investigations, drive corrective actions, maintain records, and support training and ergonomics programs across manufacturing and related teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Minimum 5 years health and safety management experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with CSA, ANSI, NIOSH or similar standards.
• Experience in ISO 13485/AS9100 regulated environments preferred.
• Proven ability to implement EHS programs and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing Kardium's EHS program in line with corporate goals.
• Conduct EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Lead investigations of near-misses/incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Lead Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and communicate safety initiatives.
• Maintain EHS records; ensure chemical management and safety data systems are up to date.
• Deliver EHS training, including new hire orientation and PPE usage.
• Support ergonomics assessments and collaborate with manufacturing/engineering teams.
