Job summary

Interfor Corporation is offering an Environmental, Health & Safety Intern position in Timmins, Ontario. This on-site internship runs for 4 to 8 months, with an anticipated May start, and includes a temporary living allowance for interns relocating to the area.

You will support EHS initiatives across a manufacturing operation, helping with inspections, audits, data analysis, and documentation. You must be enrolled in a related post-secondary program, be safety‑minded, proficient in Excel, and

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Public Health.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment without compromise.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; SQL or Tableau is an asset.
• Clear communication and ability to organize findings into practical documentation or recommendations.
• Curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions to understand risks and processes.

Responsibilities

• Support EHS initiatives across a manufacturing operation.
• Assist with inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and compliance activities.
• Review and analyze safety or environmental data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Help develop or update procedures, training materials, and EHS documentation.
• Contribute to project work by reviewing requirements, identifying gaps, and recommending practical solutions.
• Collaborate with employees and leaders across the site in both office and industrial environments.
