An established industry player is seeking a Research Coordinator to support innovative research initiatives in emergency medicine. This dynamic role involves collaborating with EMS agencies, assisting with data collection, and organizing training sessions. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills and a passion for research, making a significant impact in enhancing prehospital care. Join a team dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes in rural communities and contribute to groundbreaking projects that truly matter. If you are detail-oriented and thrive in a collaborative environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
The Research Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the innovative research program led by Dr. Manish Shah in the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. This position will primarily focus on providing administrative and operational support for two major initiatives: the Community Paramedic-led Transitions Intervention (CPTI) and the Wisconsin STARS program.
CPTI is a national, multi-site pragmatic trial that trains community paramedics to serve as care transition coaches for people living with dementia and their care partners following an emergency department visit. The Wisconsin STARS program involves conducting a needs assessment to inform the development of a high-fidelity simulation training program aimed at enhancing prehospital pediatric care in rural communities.
The Research Coordinator will work closely with emergency medical services (EMS) agencies throughout Wisconsin and across the country, in collaboration with an experienced research team at UW-Madison and partnering institutions. Key responsibilities include assisting with data collection and reporting, tracking site progress, and supporting the completion of the STARS needs assessment. The coordinator will also organize meetings and trainings for EMS agencies, which includes scheduling, drafting agendas and presentations, and helping develop training materials.
Beginning in September 2025, the coordinator will support the rollout of CPTI at East Madison Hospital by processing local referrals and facilitating initial program implementation.
