About the Role

Raise is currently hiring a Construction Officer - Power Line Technician on behalf of our client, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada. This is a unique opportunity to join an expanding team and work on large civil, electrical, and mechanical projects across British Columbia, including substations, transmission lines, and hydroelectric facilities.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect construction work on substations, transmission lines, and hydroelectric equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and building codes.
2. Prioritize site safety by performing Safe Work Observations and adhering to safety standards and regulations.
3. Coordinate site testing, surveying, and estimating activities, utilizing engineering drawings to facilitate project progress, often in adverse weather or at heights/underground.
4. Support contract and work order administration by collaborating with contractors and internal teams to meet project expectations concerning work, materials, progress, and costs.
5. Provide technical advice on complex issues to develop future capabilities.
6. Respond to inquiries professionally, representing the organization effectively on-site.

Qualifications

1. 10+ years of experience as a Red Seal Power Line Technician.
2. Experience inspecting construction work for substations, transmission lines, and hydroelectric equipment.
3. Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel.
4. Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
5. Willingness to work in remote locations.
6. Educational background including a Red Seal Power Line Technician certification and a diploma in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
7. Training in contract law is a plus.
