Job description

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our team. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, quality assurance / quality control, and completion of survey projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and implementation of projects and monitor operational effectiveness throughout.
• Serve as subject matter expert for survey-related activities such as construction staking, topographic surveying, platting, legal description writing, boundary analysis, exhibit preparation, and legal principles.
• Work with the Project Manager to define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
• Evaluate project budget, scope, and fee with Project Manager.
• Comply with and help enforce company standards, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct team meetings with project team to evaluate and coordinate the project.
• Stay current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project team staff as needed.
• Responsible for quality control and quality assurance related to the survey activities on each project.
• Ensure division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
• Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.

Required Experience

• A professional survey license is required.
• 4+ years of industry experience, including at least 2 years in an office-based role working in or closely with project delivery.
• Effective verbal and written communication is necessary and independent judgment is essential.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects well.
