Position Overview

The Maintenance Person will perform general building and property maintenance, including routine maintenance of pools, hot tubs, and boiler rooms, servicing HVAC units, drywall repairs, painting, caulking, replacing light bulbs and fixtures, and responding to guest maintenance requests. The role requires proficiency with hand and power tools and adherence to WHMIS health and safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Job Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience
• Minimum 1 year of building operation and maintenance experience
• Availability on weekends

Key Duties

• Drywall repairs and caulking
• Basic plumbing repairs
• Knowledge of heating and air conditioning units (including PTAC units)
• Seasonal outdoor landscaping
• Property inspections and maintenance of common areas, exterior, and landscape
• Vandalism cleanup and repairs within skill level
• Maintenance of HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and control panels
• Environmental safeguards and alarm systems maintenance
• Fire alarm and extinguisher maintenance
• Groundskeeping activities such as snow removal, weed control, gutter cleaning, and irrigation system maintenance
• Fault detection and reporting
• Interior and exterior painting and decorating

Applicable Skills

• Small repair skills
• Carpentry and refinishing wood skills preferred
• Effective communication at all levels
• Knowledge of cleaning products
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to stand long periods and lift/move at least 25 pounds
• Willingness to undertake Pool Operator's Course as provided by AHS
