Position: Health and Safety Coordinator

Mission:

The Health & Safety Coordinator ensures the implementation and ongoing compliance with health and safety (H&S) requirements across designated sites. As the primary contact for incident response, audits, and customer liaison, this role is vital in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. The coordinator supports the H&S Compliance Lead and the Environmental & Quality Lead through accurate reporting and data management. This position is based in Lively, ON, with regular travel within Canada.

Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the main administrative contact for all Epiroc team members and sites regarding H&S requirements and protocols.
2. Act as the liaison for all Epiroc customer platforms concerning SHEQ compliance and coordination.
3. Conduct regular on-site visits and audits to verify adherence to health and safety regulations and standards.
4. Lead or support incident investigations, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
5. Maintain accurate records for traceability and audit compliance.
6. Prepare and submit monthly H&S reports, statistics, and compliance summaries to leadership.
7. Assist in developing, reviewing, and improving H&S procedures, policies, and documentation to ensure relevance and accuracy.
8. Support H&S training, communication, and awareness initiatives across teams.
9. Assist in preparing for internal and external audits and support the implementation of the “My Epiroc Way” principles.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Knowledge/experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 standards.
• Understanding of incident investigation, hazard assessments, and return-to-work procedures.
• Solid knowledge of applicable Federal, Provincial, and Municipal health and safety regulations.
• Experience in the mining or manufacturing industry is an asset.
• Experience delivering training or holding a “Train-the-Trainer” certification is advantageous.
• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Certified internal auditor for ISO 9001/ISO 45001 (preferred).
• Excellent attendance, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and willingness to travel over 40% of the time.
• Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
