Job description

The Surgical Technologist II assists a team of medical professionals in providing surgical care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include verifying health data, observing patient conditions, performing first and second scrub duties, and setting up tables for advanced procedures.

This role ensures asepsis by maintaining sterile equipment and surfaces, observes and reports patient health changes to adapt care plans, completes scrub duties and prepares surgical environments, gathers supplies, checks equipment, and verifies patient health data in collaboration with the circulating nurse. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education : High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of a Surgical Technology program accredited by ARC / STSA or equivalent military training with surgical tech experience.
• Experience : At least 1 year of surgical tech experience.
• Licensure / Certification : BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Note : Surgical Technologists hired before 12 / 31 / 2017 may have the certification requirement waived; if held on that date, certification must be maintained without lapse.
