The Opportunity

CBC Windsor seeks an energetic Associate Producer / Technician to support our morning program Windsor Morning. This role balances journalistic storytelling with technical expertise in live-to-air radio engineering. You will serve the local Windsor-Essex community, ensuring high-quality broadcasts and engaging content across platforms.

Your responsibilities include operating the console, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring smooth broadcasts, and contributing to program content and production, including scripting, guest coordination, and audio editing.

Key Tasks
  • Engineer and direct live or recorded broadcasts, ensuring excellent audio quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during broadcasts.
  • Manage equipment, facilities, and personnel to meet operational needs.
  • Set up and operate broadcast equipment.
  • Contribute to music, sound effects, and program content planning.
  • Develop story ideas, gather audio, and produce segments.
  • Present on-air as required.
  • Coordinate technical resources for the program.
  • Maintain organizational efficiency and flexibility.
Candidate Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years' experience, with at least 3 in broadcasting or related fields.
  • Strong background in live radio broadcast engineering.
  • Knowledge of Windsor-Essex community issues.
  • Solid journalistic and production skills.
  • Ability to develop stories and contacts.
  • Quick, efficient, and calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable on-air presenting.
  • Creative use of sound.
  • Flexible with shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
