We are seeking a Downstream Market Analyst to join our Global Optimizer Development Department (GOD).
About the Department:
The (GOD) charter is to optimize crude allocation and the operations of global manufacturing facilities to maximize revenue, increase profitability, and capture international market opportunities.
Primary Role:
Provide high-level technical, professional advice and guidance regarding the outlook & pricing of refined, chemical products, crude, and logistics. Interpret market movements and their implications on the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study global events affecting the energy and oil & gas industry.
- Develop forecasts based on market understanding for prices over a 3-4 months outlook horizon.
- Collaborate with product specialists and traders for input.
- Assess market premiums and discounts in various enclaves.
- Perform quality control to ensure market relevance of transfer prices, review contracts, and inform JV offtake positions during negotiations.
- Improve market relations and forward curves methodology.
- Review and provide feedback on transfer price contracts and amendments, ensuring fair pricing practices across refineries.
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance profitability and performance, leveraging extensive experience in downstream oil & gas, trading, sales, corporate planning, market research, and business development.
- Promote innovative solutions to solve complex problems.
- Apply industry-leading knowledge to improve performance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Post-graduate education or equivalent experience (MBA/Economics) is desirable.
- Deep knowledge of data warehousing and mining.
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience, including 3 years as a marketing analyst in the oil & gas downstream sector, analyzing refined product markets at global, regional, and country levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to transfer knowledge effectively and work in cross-functional teams.
