Job description

Status : Full Time, permanent (The role will require flexibility in shift times, as interaction with night cleaning crew will also be required. Location : Saskatoon, SK and Surrounding Areas, SK

Salary : $65,000 to $80,000 based on experience

Job Overview :

Due to recent growth, we are seeking our next Area Manager to join our Alpine family! The Area Manager oversees multiple sites, a portfolio, or a territory, managing employees or subcontractors directly or indirectly. The role involves being the face of the company and the first point of contact for clients regarding operations, escalations, and work orders. The primary focus is to ensure Alpine meets its contractual obligations within service and budget parameters, while proactively seeking ways to improve performance. Key Responsibilities :

  1. Subcontractor Management
  2. Participate in hiring, training, and supervising subcontractors and their activities
  3. Ensure subcontractors comply with requirements such as security clearances, GST, business licensing, WCB, liability insurance, etc.
  4. Ensure subcontractor work adheres to Alpine standards
  5. Conduct periodic audits or site inspections to verify work completion
  6. Client Relations Management
  7. Liaise with clients to meet performance standards and address complaints
  8. Support site growth initiatives (additional services, square footage, fees)
  9. Contribute to new growth initiatives, including bids
  10. Expense Management
  11. Oversee or coordinate equipment repairs
  12. Ensure subcontractor hours align with budget

Working Conditions :

The role requires flexibility in shift times, including interaction with night cleaning crews. Candidates must be fully vaccinated and able to obtain CPIC clearance. Frequent travel within the region is necessary. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • At least 5 years of janitorial experience in the grocery industry (stripping, waxing, scheduling, etc.)
  • Management experience in a fast-paced environment with a diverse workforce
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and report generation
  • Strong communication and change management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement programs and tasks for client service enhancement
  • Willingness and ability to travel and respond to issues promptly
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and address trends and issues
  • Professional demeanor with clients and staff
  • Ability to diplomatically raise concerns and foresee potential issues
  • Confidence to communicate assertively and respectfully
  • Ability to identify and pursue sales growth opportunities
