As a Commercial Manager working in the Alternative Projects Centre of Expertise (APEX) team at Pomerleau Construction, you will identify and analyze potential commercial risks and liabilities associated with proposals, ongoing projects, consultant agreements, and supplier agreements. You will support the preparation of supplier and partnership agreements. In this role, you will support our work on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $150M to over $1 billion – providing commercial support in contract administration, narrative and entitlement documentation, and claims resolution.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and analyze commercial risks and liabilities in proposals, client agreements, active projects, as well as partnership and supplier agreements.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders across technical, risk, legal, and finance functions.
  • Support pre-construction teams in identifying and advising on commercial risks and preparing bid documents.
  • Assist in contract administration, documentation, and resolution of claims on active projects.
  • Ensure prime contract terms are properly flowed down to related contracts and projects.
  • Maintain confidential information for financial analysis and planning.
  • Help project teams interpret contract language and analyze risks in collaboration with legal.
  • Manage commercial aspects, including agreement preparation, review, and negotiation.
  • Coordinate communication strategies with stakeholders, lead agendas for Commercial Meetings, and foster positive relationships.

This role could be for you if you have

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Law, or equivalent.
  • At least 8 years of experience in P3, Design-Build contracts, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of public procurement processes and proposal procedures.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral); fluency in French is an added value.
