POSITION SUMMARY

Maintenance Technician is a critical role and is crucial to the overall productivity of the organization. Technicians’ expertise in equipment and facility maintenance ensures that operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely in performing mechanical work to maintain various high-speed production equipment in good working order. Maintain, repair, and modify existing and new equipment, including the fabrication of simple parts. Follow safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal safety, company property, environmental, and team member’s safety.

Responsibilities :

  • Troubleshoot mechanical / electrical / pneumatic / hydraulic systems using schematics and technical drawings.
  • Participate in the implementation of various improvement projects.
  • Repair, install, align, dismantle, and move equipment / production lines.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform machine maintenance.
  • The Maintenance Mechanic ensures the operation and maintenance (predictive and preventive) of production equipment and assets and detect irregularities and malfunctions.

Education / Skills / Experience :

  • Minimum of 3 years mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with extrusion equipment would be an added asset.
  • Licensed Millwright or Mechanical Technologist / Technician Diploma would be an added asset.
  • Fabrication experience would be an added asset.
  • Possess basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Possess some PLC, robot, servo drive knowledge.
  • Ability to correctly read and interpret industrial schematics.
  • Experience working with preventative maintenance software (FIIX, Maximo, SAP).
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of change.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures.
  • Must pay attention to details with a customer service attitude.
  • Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
