Job summary

Dalhousie University’s Centre for Learning and Teaching seeks an Educational Developer to advance decolonization and Indigenous ways of knowing in courses and programs. Reporting to the Director, CLT, you will design and facilitate programming that integrates Indigenous knowledge and equitable teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field with approximately 3–5 years’ university teaching/educational development experience.
• Educational background in Indigenous ways of knowing and decolonization.
• Mi’kmaw/Indigenous education experience with scholarship and understanding of Canadian colonial impacts.
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills suitable for Indigenous contexts and diverse communities.
• Experience with online and blended formats and educational technologies.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and Centre research for practice and publication.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate consultations on teaching and learning through a Mi’kmaw/Indigenous/decolonial lens.
• Co-create professional development for Instructors of Record across modalities (workshops, seminars, labs, retreats).
• Support program/unit teams in integrating Decolonial and Indigenous Knowings within curricula.
• Collaborate with Indigenous leaders and departments to ensure respectful, reciprocal initiatives.
• Maintain knowledge of current literature to support scholarly work.
