Job summary

Buffalo Trail Public Schools in Vermilion, Alberta is seeking an Educational Assistant to join the Buffalo Trail Learning Hub. This full-time role supports students in an inclusive learning environment under teacher direction, with a 1.0 FTE schedule.

The successful candidate will deliver tailored instruction, assist with data collection, monitor progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student development and transitions within the school system.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Childhood or Educational Assistant programs preferred.
• Experience with senior high and/or adult students is desirable.
• Familiarity with assisting individuals who need organization and learning support.
• Ability to support Math courses.
• SIVA or similar crisis-intervention training is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction tailored to identified students and prepare materials.
• Monitor student progress and provide observations to teachers.
• Modify materials to meet individual or group needs jointly.
• Support development of academic, social and life skills.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and participate in meetings.
• Supervise students during class, gym, playgrounds, and field trips.
