Job summary

Fort McMurray Catholic Schools is seeking a full-time Educational Assistant (EA) to support ECS and Elementary students in a collaborative setting. The selected candidate will work under teacher guidance, participate in multi-disciplinary planning, and implement adaptive strategies to foster learning and development.

Responsibilities include assisting with cognitive, communication, physical, and social growth, applying behaviour plans, and supporting use of assistive technologies.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma
• NVCI Level A&B certification preferred or may be required
• Ability to swim and support students with diverse needs

Responsibilities

• Support students' growth in cognition, communication, physical and social development
• Assist with teacher-directed programming and adjustments as directed
• Collaborate with teachers, CST and multi-disciplinary team
• Implement strategies from specialists (OT, PT, SLP, etc.) to reach goals
• Apply behaviour management and school-wide behaviour plans when needed
• Provide clear, age-appropriate communication and reinforcement
• Support students with adaptive/learning technologies and devices
• Supervise students indoors and outdoors as directed
