Job summary

Livingstone Range School Division, based in Fort Macleod, Alberta, is seeking a Full-Time Educational Assistant to join the Complexity Team at F.P. Walshe School.

The role involves one-on-one and small group support to meet learning plan goals and in-class assistance across division schools as needed. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Complexity Team Teacher, school administration and the Learning Support Team, and should have experience with diverse diagnoses and First Nations

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in one-on-one, small group and inclusive classroom settings.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility.
• Experience and training in working with students with different diagnoses from Autism to complex behaviours.
• Experience in working collaboratively with a Learning Support Team.
• Experience or training working with First Nations cultures.
• Physically fit and able to keep up with the demands of working with a student with complex needs.
• Educational Assistant certification and/or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent would be an asset.
• NVCI and/or SIVA training would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group assistance for students to help meet goals identified in the learning plan.
• Provide in-class support for students.
