Job summary

Livingstone Range School Division in Southern Alberta is seeking a Full Time Child and Youth Care Worker to join the Complexity Team at F.P. Walshe School in Fort Macleod.

The role provides one-on-one and small group support to help students meet goals identified in learning plans and to support classroom instruction. The successful candidate will have experience in inclusive settings, strong relationship-building with students requiring patience, and CYCW certification with behaviour support

Qualifications

• Experience in an inclusive school setting or willingness to learn.
• Experience with 1:1 and small group support in classrooms.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students requiring patience.
• Training with diverse diagnoses from autism to complex behaviours.
• Collaborative work with Learning Support Team.
• Experience working with First Nations cultures; sensory regulation knowledge.
• CYCW certification with specialized behaviour support training.
• NVCI and/or SIVA training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to meet student goals.
• Support in-class learning under direction of complex team teachers.
• Collaborate with school admin and division staff on learning plans.
• Assist with behaviour support plans and student wellbeing.
• Travel to other division schools as needed.
