Job summary

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for an Educational Assistant: Classroom Assistant/Physical Care at Our Lady of Fatima School / Mother St. Bride School.

This is a 1.0 FTE permanent position effective immediately. Required is a two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field (DSW/Youth Worker/ECE/PN) and proven ability to support students with multiple needs, including physical and behavioral support.

Qualifications

• Two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field such as Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing (formerly RNA diploma).
• Experience with students with multiple needs including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior, and anger management needs.
• Preference for candidates with direct experience working with children with behavior exceptionalities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of behavior modification strategies.
• Knowledge of augmentative communication strategies.
• Experience using technology and digital tools to support remote learning (Google Classroom, Google Meet).
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field such as Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing (formerly RNA diploma).

• Regular access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Preferred Requirements:

• Non-violent crisis intervention training would be an asset
• French language skills would be considered an asset
• First Aid training
