Job summary

Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Educational Assistant: Classroom Assistant/Physical Care at St. Theresa School.

This 1.0 FTE temporary role begins immediately and extends until approximately November 27, 2026, with a hard end date not beyond June 30, 2027. The successful candidate will support students with diverse needs in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field such as Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing (formerly RNA diploma).
• Experience working with students with multiple needs including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior, and anger management needs.
• Preference for candidates with direct experience working with children with behavior exceptionalities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Working knowledge and experience of behavior modification strategies.
• Knowledge of augmentative communication strategies.
• Experience using technology and digital tools and resources that support the remote learning environment (e.g., Google Classroom, Google Meet).
• Excellent interpersonal skills; and
• Good written and oral communication skills.
