Job summary

Simcoe County District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant for a 1.0 FTE temporary full-time position (35 hours/week). There is no guaranteed duration of the assignment.

EAs work to support students across academic, behavioural, social, life skills and co-op contexts within a multidisciplinary team. The role may involve physically demanding tasks, including assisting with toileting, lifting, and positioning as required.

Qualifications

• All Educational Assistant positions require a relevant university degree or a two-year college diploma in the human services field.
• Experience with behaviour management systems (BMS) is required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support students to achieve success in academic, behaviour, social, life skills and co-op situations.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to contribute to learning development and student integration.
• Create a safe and supportive environment; rotate through the school to meet student needs.
