Job summary

The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) invites applications for an Educational Assistant (EA) in an ASD County Class E6 assignment. This 1.0 FTE permanent full-time position offers a 35-hour workweek and a two-year commitment.

EA staff support students across academic, behavioral, social, and life skills areas, work within a multidisciplinary team, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• ALL positions require a relevant university degree or a two-year college diploma in human services.
• BMS training, strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support students to achieve success in academic, behavior, social and life skills areas.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Potentially perform physically demanding tasks and assist with toileting, lifting, and mobility as needed.
