John Tonkin College Education Support Centre (JTCESC) invites applicants for Education Support Teacher roles. Suitable candidates will have experience managing challenging behaviours for students with special needs, and delivering tailored programs emphasizing numeracy, literacy, life skills, and protective behaviours.

Ideal applicants modify curricula to meet individual needs (ID, autism, complex behaviours) and showcase knowledge of Visual Arts across school/community.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering tailored programs for students with special needs (ID, autism, complex behaviours).
• Ability to modify curriculum to meet individual student needs.
• Knowledge or experience in Visual Arts across the school and community is advantageous.
• Strong teaching practices, self-reflection and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Lead a team of Education Assistants to create a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Education Assistants to create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Collaborate with families, therapists and external agencies to enhance student outcomes.
• Engage actively with and contribute to the school community.
