Job summary

Beaufort Delta Divisional Education Council is seeking a Support Assistant to help implement individualized education plans and support students with special needs or those requiring additional assistance. The role focuses on core areas like reading and math, in a structured classroom setting.

The SA will work with students individually or in small groups, assisting in creating a positive learning environment and helping students develop listening, communication skills, and good work habits.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 with related training in working with special needs.
• Experience in an educational environment is preferred.
• Ability to support students in reading and math and promote positive learning behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Work with students individually or in small groups to provide academic support.
• Support the classroom teacher in maintaining order and creating a positive learning environment.
