Job summary

William Osler Health System in Brampton, Ontario, is seeking an Education Assistant to support medical education activities at the Osler clinical education campus. The role collaborates with the Manager, Medical Education and the medical education team across rotations, calls, and simulations.

The position requires a two-year diploma in office administration medical program or equivalent, health-care experience, strong planning and communication skills, and the ability to travel to Osler sites

Qualifications

• Two-year post-secondary program completed or equivalent.
• Two years experience in a health care related environment.
• Effective planning and organizational skills with ability to set priorities.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to all Osler sites and McMaster University.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-site faculty support as required.
• Supports coordination of clinical placement opportunities and related correspondence.
• Creates and maintains UG/PG call schedules; distributes updates to learners and hospitals.
• Organizes placement details for impacted departments.
• Assists with registration and orientation for medical learners.
• Provides administrative support for the Manager, Medical Education.
• Attends medical education committee meetings as required.
• Maintains trainee demographics and attendance data for reporting.
• Assists with defining preceptor availability (clinical capacity planning).
• Back-up and support to the Manager, Medical Education and simulation activities.
