St. George’s School is seeking an Education Assistant to join the Junior School Resource team. The role supports students with diverse learning needs, translating IEPs and BSPs into practical classroom strategies.

With 1–3 years of experience, you will collaborate with teachers, document progress, and help maintain an engaging inquiry-based learning environment while offering part-time hours aligned to the school calendar.

Formación

• Education Assistant Certificate/Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 - 3 years previous experience working with young students in an educational setting.
• Experience supporting a range of learning needs informed by research and best practice.
• Experience documenting student behavior and progress.
• Experience supporting early literacy and numeracy development.
• Strongly committed to student learning and success; engaging students as active learners.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborative Support & Strategy: Partner with classroom teachers and Student Services to tailor strategies for individual needs.
• Direct Student Support: Provide targeted support to learners and small groups for academic, social-emotional, and executive functioning needs.
• IEP & BSP Implementation: Assist students per IEP or BSP following teacher guidance.
• Student Progress & Behavior Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of progress and behavior.
• Team Collaboration: Participate in regular meetings to align support strategies.
• Inquiry-Based Learning: Support creation of an active, inquiry-based learning environment.
• Supervision & Transitions: Supervise during transitions, lunch, and outdoor play.
• Community Engagement: Support school events and extracurricular activities.
